New surface in the Multi Use Games Area

It is so fantastic to have the new surface in the compound and now the weather is changing we can use it more at the weekends!

FOSP volunteers are organising Saturday morning football sessions, every Sat 9 till 11, for youngsters under 8 years old..

Please do bring your son or daughter along for a fun informal FREE session.

Please be advised that parents / carers will need to stay to supervise your kids.

The hut will be open so you can have a cuppa or get involved!

Last year the council asked residents for ideas for suggested improvements to parks and open spaces in the borough. FoSP submitted a proposal to renovate the MUGA in Stoneydown Park, which was looking tired and unloved, although hugely popular. Luckily, it was one of the ideas that was chosen.

Sports Courts UK Ltd has now completed the works and the lovely new MUGA (Multi Use Games Area aka ‘The compound’!) will be open from tomorrow, 8th October. The extensive works have included improving the drainage, resurfacing the area and adding new goals/basketball hoops. New tarmac has been installed and a bright and colourful anti-slip layer and court markings have been added, making the MUGA a fun and safe place for ball sports throughout the year.
